Larva to about 25 mm.

Identification
Adult - the lack of scaling on the forewing is a key feature.
Larva - grayish body, brown head and light brown thoracic shield.

Behavior

Larvae bore in oaks, specifically pin oak (Quercus palustris, Fagaceae) and black oak (Quercus palustris) (Greenfield & Karandinos 1979).
