Pink Pearl Bush

Appearance

This plant is a small, evergreen shrub to about 1.5 m tall with big, simple, soft, hairy leaves and beautiful inflorescences with pink flowers followed by purple fruits.

Distribution

Conostegia subcrustulata is native to rainforests in Central and northwestern South America between sea level and 1600 m.

Habitat

Shrub, 1-3m, of humid to very humid, pluvial and cloudy forest, found in open areas, roadsides and forest edges, 0-1200 m.

Uses

Ornamental shrub for tropical climates.
