Appearance
Leaves short-petiolate to nearly sessile, entire, 5-8 mm, subcordate-ovate, subacute, with slightly revolute margins; floral leaves as long as verticillasters or longer. Verticillasters long-hairy, manyflowered, pedunculate, forming short spike-like inflorescences, the lower remote, the upper often close together; bracteoles subulate, minute; flowers pedicellate. Calyx tubular, striate, often purplish, 3 mm, densely and spreadingly long-hairy; throat short-hispid; teeth spreading, about II, as long as tube, the lower teethsetaceous. Corolla purplish-pink, 5 mm, hairy; tube subincluded. Flowers February-May.
