The black-banded woodcreeper is a species of bird in the Dendrocolaptinae subfamily, the woodcreepers.
It is discontinuously spread from Chiapas to Paraguay and northern Argentina. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
