Lasiocampa quercus

The Oak Eggar is a moth of the family Lasiocampidae. It is found in Europe and the British Isles. The wingspan is 45–75 mm. The females are larger than the males. The moth flies from May to September depending on the location. Their hairs can cause a violent itching skin allergy in some people.
