Appearance

This fan is in the shape of a fan, red to orange in color, knot at the intersection of the branches. The polyps are flower-shaped, arranged on each side of the branches, white to light yellow, 8 tentacles. Size 60-80 cm.

Distribution

Red Sea, Indo-Pacific.

Habitat

It is found on coral reefs, exposed to the current. Depth 20- 60 m.

Reproduction

Reproduction: The class of anthozoa is gonochoric or hermaphrodite. The mature gametes are eliminated in the coelenteron and appear by mouth. Fertilization is external. The larvae are planktonic, before coming to settle and develop on the substrate.

Food

It feeds on plankton.
