Appearance
The pink veined with white didemnum is an encrusting synascidia with a common purplish pink tunic with multiple small round inhaling pores regularly distributed. Large exhaling orifices are located at the top of the nipples surrounded by sometimes diffuse white or forming large areas on the tunic having the appearance of veins, hence the common name.Adult size: 20cm - 40cm.
Reproduction
Members of the class Ascidiacea are hermaphroditic; both cross- and self-fertilization is typical. Life cycle: Eggs develop into lecithotrophic larva before metamorphosing into benthic adultsReferences:
