Tanager finch

Oreothraupis arremonops

The tanager finch is a songbird species. In the recent past it was placed in the Emberizidae, and then classified as its common name implies, a kind of tanager. Today, it has been placed in the family Passerellidae, which was formerly considered to be part of the Emberizidae. It is the only species in the monotypic genus ''Oreothraupis''.

Habitat

It is found in Colombia and Ecuador, where its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
