Ornithogalum refractum Kit. ex Schltdl. is a perennial herb belonging to family Asparagaceae.
A short geophyte, 4-8 cm tall. Bulb white, producing small bulblets around. Leaves narrow, much longer than the scape, 1.5-3 mm broad, with a white (pale) mid-stripe on the upper side. Leaf margin entire, naked. The inflorescence is a 2-5 flowered raceme. Pedicels spreading, thick at the base, a bit pending in fruiting stage, lower ones 30-45 mm long. The fruit is a wing-less capsule.

Distribution

The plant is found in Italy, Balkans to Hungary, Crimea, east to the Caucasus.
