Flame-shouldered Dart

Ochropleura implecta

"Ochropleura implecta" is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It is found from Newfoundland to South Carolina, west to Arizona, north to British Columbia. The wingspan is 25–32 millimetres. Adults are on wing from April to September. There are two generations per year.
Flame-shouldered Dart - Ochropleura implecta TL: ~15 mm. Brown forewings that were really shiny and had a purplish tint. Straw-colored costal streak. Orbicular spot is edged in white.

Naming

This species was described in 1998 by Don Lafontaine, who distinguished it from the very similar "Ochropleura plecta" which occurs in Europe and Asia.

Food
