Scorzonera tortuosissima

Appearance

The plant is grayish with many stems, which are spreading, the lower ones woody. Often the tap root is exposed in the sand, then it bends and becomes woody above ground. Flowers all ligulate, yellow. Pappus bristles are pinnate at base.

Habitat

It grows primarily on sandstone and eroded sand from 800-1300 m.
