''Maliattha synochitis'', known generally as the black-dotted maliattha or black-dotted lithacodium, is a species of owlet moth in the family Noctuidae. It is found in North America.

Distribution

TX-FL-NS-ND (plus a few outer strays)
Apparently expanding its range northward: first reported in Canada in 1993 at Port Franks, Ontario, M. synochitis is now found in every province from Nova Scotia to Saskatchewan.

Food

Larvae feed on knotweed - Polygonum spp. (Polygonaceae).
