Macrodiplosis pustularis

Macrodiplosis pustularis is a gall midge (Cecidomyiidae) whose larvae live in a gall formed by a curled lobe on the leafs of various host plants, such as among others Eglish Oak (Quercus robur). Each gall contains one to six larvae that later hibernate in the soil and pupate in the spring. Ther is one generation per year.
