''Psammodynastes pictus'', the painted mock viper or spotted mock viper, is a species of snake from Southeast Asia.
Painted Mock Viper - Psammodynastes pictus This orange/brown variation of Painted Mock Viper - Psammodynastes pictus is the one that is more often seen at the Park.  This particular one was found on the same bush on the side of a pond that has a lot of frogs.  It was at the same spot at night for the whole duration of 6 nights I was there.  During day time, it probably went under the bushes to hide.

Distribution

The type locality is Borneo and India. In Borneo this species is found in both Brunei, East Malaysia and Kalimantan. It also occurs in the Malay Peninsula including Singapore and in Sumatra, Belitung, Bangka, Simeulue, and Riau Archipelago .
