
Appearance
Description of Female :Head, thoraces, tegmina and costal area of hind wings same mid brown as legs. Antennae dark with 4-5 white rings nearer the tip. Head smooth, slightly rounded at occiput. Pronotum and mesonotum granulose with mesonotum densely granulose. Anterior and posterior margins of pronotum with yellow band. Pronotum with very deep fissure just anterior of mid-point. Anterior pronotum with fine midline longitudinal carina not as obvious in posterior pronotum. Mesonotum with slightly raised longitudinal midline carina. Posterior raised portion of mesonotum starts about one-third down mesonotum with 2 raised knobs slightly darker brown than rest of mesonotum. Mesopleura with very fine and tiny granules. Metepleura smooth. Mesosternum, metasternum and all abdominal sternites smooth. Tegmina and costal part of hind wings with blue spots. Anal area of hind wings smoky. Hind wings exceeding tip of abdomen. All legs mid brown without colour change in femoral apices. All segments of all legs setose. Tip of mesotarsus reaches apex of profemur. Apex of mesofemur reaches back of head. Apex o metafemur reaches halfway along 4th abdominal tergite. Tip of metatarsus reaches about middle of 8th abdominal tergite. Cerci setose and cylindrical. Abdomen both dorsal and ventral brown. Abdominal segments 2-5 about equal in length. Segment 6 slightly shorter. Segments 7-10 decreasing in length. Operculum lance-like with tip notched. Anal segment with postero-lateral corners slightly sharp and lamina supraanalis protruding slightly.

The species was named after Datuk Sam Mannan, the Director of Sabah Forestry Department, Malaysia for his advocacy work in conservation, research and sustainable forest management in Sabah.Distribution
