Podops inuncta

Podops inuncta (Fabricius, 1775) (also frequently spelled as Podops inunctus) or the Turtle Shieldbug is a ground-dwelling Shieldbug (Pentatomidae) native to large parts of Europe. The larvae feed on various grasses.

Appearance

The scutellum is large, covering most of the abdomen (almost resembling that of Scutelleridae) and the pronotum carries a rather obvious "hook" on the anterior corners, just behind the eyes.
