The Bicolored Sallow or Shield-backed Cutworm is a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found in the eastern half of the United States and Canada.
Bicolored Sallow - Agrochola bicolorago Total length: ~20 mm. Orange forewings with wavy lines bordered with purplish bands. Scalloped postmedial line is accented with black dots along the veins.  Reniform spot has a black dot in the inner half.

Appearance

The wingspan is 28–38 mm. Adults are on wing from August to December in the south and from September to November in the north.

Food

The larvae feed on cabbage, cherry, crabapple, dock, elm, grass, maple, peach, plum, oak, tobacco and willow.
