Appearance
Erect, stout ramicauls enveloped by 7 to 15, microscopically ciliate, lepanthiform sheaths with oblique dilated ostia and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, more or less purple suffused beneath, elliptical-ovate, acuminate, acute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in late winter and spring on a filiform, 2.4" [6 cm] long including the 1.2" [3 cm] long pedumcle, subdense, distichous, successively flowered, racemose inflorescence in a fascile of up to 10, on the back of the leaf, single to occasionally 2 simultaneously opening flowers.References:
