The three-banded courser is a species of bird in the Glareolidae family. It is found in Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Namibia, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

There are five subspecies of three-banded courser:
