Paropsisterna sexpustulata is a species of leaf beetle in the Chrysomelidae family and endemic to subtropical ragions of Eastern australia.

Appearance

Black and glossy. It has three bright dots in orange or yellow on each elytron. There is a fourth orange dot on the lateral edge of the pronotum which extends through to the underside.

Distribution

From Sydney to Brisbane. Common in Brisbane. Records in Victoria are likely to be misidentified, as superficially similar beetles do occur there.

Behavior

Somewhat nocturnal, found communally during the daytime under bark of host eucalyptus. Active throughout winter as well as simmer.
