Rumex bucephalophorus

Rumex bucephalophorus is a species of a flowering plant belonging to the family Polygonaceae. The scientific authority of the species is L., having been published in Species Plantarum 1: 336. 1753.
Rumex bucephalophorus the hebrew common name is "horse's head rumex" - the fruit seem to resemble horse's head to someone in Israel. 
the Latin name is "Ox's head rumex" - apparently, Linneus thought it was more like an Ox than a horse...

Appearance

Perennial herbs, biennial or annual, rarely shrubs or sofrútices, usually with highly developed radical system. Gnarled stems. Ovaries membranous, whole or ± laciniates, sometimes deciduous. Leaves petiolate or sessile superiors, pinnate or subpalmed. Flowers hermaphrodite or unisex, verticillate, in inflorescences ± ramosas or rarely simple; Articulated pedicels. Sepaloid perianth, with 2 trimmer whorls of unequal, non-winged pieces, free internal ones, although sometimes constricted with the ovary, the outer ones smaller, free or welded at the base. Stamens 6, in 2 whorls. Pistil with 3 reflex styles; Stigmata multifidus, often purple. Aquenian trines, surrounded by 3 herbaceous or membranaceous valves - the additional parts of the inner whorl of the perianth - which often develop a tuber or a basal scale ± thick on the back.
