Bandwinged Grasshopper (probably Oedipoda germanica) There are several Bandwinged Grasshoppers, of variable colours which are only definitively identifiable by viewing the hind wings.<br /> <br /> I&#039;m confident I saw a splash of red at the time which is why I&#039;ve ID&#039;d this specimen as Oedipoda germanica.<br /> <br /> Unfortunately the accompanying video doesn&#039;t give any more away. There are several Bandwinged Grasshoppers, of variable colours which are only definitively identifiable by viewing the hind wings.

I'm confident I saw a splash of red at the time which is why I've ID'd this specimen as Oedipoda germanica.

Unfortunately the accompanying video doesn't give any more away. I should have been more insistent.
