Common Linnet (Carduelis cannabina) or (Linaria cannabina) Although it tends to live in flocks, the linnet can be difficult to get a close look at, due to its habit of zipping in short hops between bushes or trees to escape attention. Every now and then though, on more open farmland, you can find them out in the open, like this male, and the female in my video. <br />

The Common Linnet is a small passerine bird of the finch family, Fringillidae. It derives its scientific name from its fondness for hemp and its English name from its liking for seeds of flax, from which linen is made.
