  1. Love this one! Try comparing to Eois or Eucyclodes sp. Posted 5 years ago, modified 5 years ago
    1. Thank you. I was thinking Eois maybe. Posted 5 years ago
      1. I want to throw this one out there as well:
        https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/924860-Hemithea-notospila

It shouldn't be a match. It doesn't match perfectly visually, and it's not known to occur in South America. It just drew my attention for having so many similarities. Co-evolution?

Anyway, eois seems closer to home base:

...also not a match, but comes close.

        1. Likewise, this one is also not a match, but bears a basic, physical resemblance:

          1. Good one. At the bold systems website, you can see genus eois has several dozen of unnamed species, good to keep in mind that when we get stuck, it may just not be described at all. Posted 5 years ago
            1. Oh! Interesting. Posted 5 years ago
  2. I really like the lace overlay design. Posted 5 years ago, modified 5 years ago
    1. Congrats on finding the ID, it really is quite obscure yet seems a full match!

      1. Actually some one from Facebook just as you suggested. Posted 5 years ago
        1. Good to hear that this strategy worked, sometimes you have to throw the kitchen sink at it.

If you think these are a challenge, welcome to Madagascar moths:

It seems about 3 people on the planet know anything about them. Most often the answer when trying to ID them is "don't even bother".
