  1. Hi Ferdy, usually the body _shape_ and colours are quite indicative of the sex, but this one is very "deflated" and probably still somewhat teneral from a recent moult, so these charachters don't help much here.
    The "banded" legs are more indicative of juveniles and sub-adults, with the adults having almost entirely black legs.
    Going by the relative long pedipalps and strong chelicerae this should however be a male - probably still sub-adult.

''Opilio canestrinii'' is a species of harvestman. ''O. canestrinii'' probably originates from Italy, but has invaded central Europe since the late 1970 and has since almost everywhere replaced the similar ''O. parietinus''. It is most often found on house walls.
