
Common Gray - Anavitrinella pampinaria
Gray moth with black mottling...The colors in this photo are not accurate. The first abdominal segment has a pale whitish band that is bordered proximally by a black line - this black line extends onto the base of the hindwing and forewing, then curves forward, but usually breaks before reaching the costa. Postmedian line is wavy.
Habitat: Attracted to a 395 nm LED light in a rural area

"Anavitrinella pampinaria", the common gray, is a moth of the family Geometridae. It is found in most of North America except the arctic regions, south to Mexico. Adults are on wing from April to October.
