TL: ~30 mm. Blue-brown-greenish FW with a wide streak of dark shading near inner margin, HW is red with black bands and checkered fringe. Hosts: Cherry, apple, hawthorn, and plum. Status: Common.
Habitat: Attracted to an LED light (395 nm) in a semi-rural area

The Dark Red Underwing or Ultronia Underwing is a moth of the Erebidae family. It is found in most of eastern North America, south to Florida and Texas. It ranges west across the southern parts of Canada to extreme southeast British Columbia.
