Lance Cowrie - Aclyvolva lanceolata
These are cowry smails with elongated shell and deep red mantle with white retractable tuffed papillae that just match the shape of the polyps of the red sea whip Juncella sp. where they inhabit. Another example of good mimicry.
"Aclyvolva lanceolata" is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Ovulidae, the ovulids, cowry allies or false cowries.
