Euasian Sparrowhawk evil pose Our little garden, the one I look out upon whilst working on JungleDragon, makes for an interesting mini food chain. I generously feed birds during winter, yet at the same time our cat ambushes them (but mostly fails). Today though the cat couldn't wait to go back inside, as the sweet revenge of birds landed in his territory. The evil stare and lifted claw was enough to second guess his bravery. The Eurasian Sparrowhawk is a small bird of prey in the family Accipitridae. Adult male Eurasian Sparrowhawks have bluish grey upperparts and orange-barred underparts; females and juveniles are brown above with brown barring below. The female is up to 25% larger than the male – one of the largest differences between the sexes in any bird species.
