After the feast Preceeding our meeting with King Julien in the mountains of Isola, Madagascar was a grueling hot and exhausting hike of several hours. I like those hardships, not because I'm masodistic, instead because the effort usually is rewarded by special wildlife moments like these. Private moments with a beautiful animal in its natural habitat. Staring at each other, acknowledging each other, and just shutting up for once. Unforgettable. The ring-tailed lemur is a large strepsirrhine primate and the most recognized lemur due to its long, black and white ringed tail. It belongs to Lemuridae, one of five lemur families, and is the only member of the "Lemur" genus. Like all lemurs it is endemic to the island of Madagascar and endangered.
