Robust Oak Borer (Enaphalodes atomarius)

Excuse the "fuzzy" photo. I've been struggling with the heat and humidity fogging up my camera (I need to start leaving it on the porch during the day I guess?).

This large beetle was found on my front porch at the edge of a dense mixed forest.

  2. Photo is fine!

    And yes, warming up the camera is a good idea, in my experience 30 mins is usually enough. If in a bag, place outside of it, as the bag itself also has a micro climate.
