  1. Demon-like! What's the backstory, Deb? Found in the garden? Just curious :)

Oh, can you please set the location?

    1. Done. Thanks for the reminder.

The house I just moved from had a large crawlspace underneath where lots of critters would live. I had many opossums take up residence there. This was my former back fence. They would crawl along it in evenings. Although they are not friendly creatures, they don't attack, they play possum, and they are great at killing ticks, rats and mice, as well as consume dead animals. I was always thankful to have them. Now I live in a house that also has a crawl space, but for some reason I have not seen opossums here. Maybe I just don't see them now because I'm not out much at night anymore and they are nocturnal. I did grow to love them and actually think they are cute.

The Virginia opossum, commonly known as the North American opossum, is the only marsupial found in North America north of Mexico. In the United States it is typically referred to simply as a "possum". A solitary and nocturnal animal about the size of a domestic cat, and thus the largest opossum, it is a successful opportunist.
