  1. It is the Common Diuca-finch (Diuca diuca). Probably a youngster or a female. I will add the species to your spotting :-)

    1. Absolutely! There is so much for people interested in nature ,history, and culture. Wild horses and steer, tropical flowers and other wildlife. Of course the Moai statues, beautiful cave paintings, a volcano crater, beautiful landscapes, gorgeous ocean water (a shade like no other I had seen) and truly wonderful people. It was a trip of a lifetime for me. I'll be posting some plants from there soon. Thanks for asking. Posted 5 years ago

The common diuca finch is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland, and heavily degraded former forest.
