Only a few hours away from the wet and cold Ranomafana rainforest is the ultra hot and dry desert mountain landscape of Isola. We took a hike here that lasted several hours. It was beautiful, but one should be warned that this walk is not without risk. The sun is very intense and there is no hiding from it. Even bringing lots of water will not help entirely, as it will heat up to be nearly undrinkeable.
