Noeeta pupillata - Puparia Puparia of the Fruit fly Noeeta pupillata in the flower bud (opened up) of Smooth Hawkweed (Hieracium laevigatum).<br />
According to John Smit, a Dutch specialist for Tephritidae, the Smooth hawkweed (Hieracium laevigatum) that we&#039;ve found the puparia in, is a new host plant for this species of Fruit fly. The plant blooms earlier than the other known hosts, so this raises the question if this might be a result of our soft winters with the flies maybe being active earlier in the year.
