  2. Albert, please check for Thereuopoda longicornis. Posted 5 years ago
  3. Thank you for the explanation. I didn't know about the color change. Posted 5 years ago
    1. Thanks, Jivko, could also be Thereuopoda longicornis but from my checking, seems Scutigera coleoptrata is the more common one. I usually see lots of them during night walks in the forest.

Usually insects newly moulted may have different colours. I was also told that Ootheca of some Praying Mantis, when newly laid are also blue in colour, which I have photographed several times when the Mother Mantis is still laying the Ootheca and so far, haven't come across older Ootheca in blue colour, usually grey/brown/yellow.

  6. I'm kinda jealous Albert, you live in a very rich insect world. Posted 5 years ago
    1. I do live in countries with rich insect world but still have to travels to the good places to get the more interesting variety. There's nothing much in the big cities though.

But this House Centipede, you can see them too in Europe including Belgium and Germany, not sure of Netherlands though.

''Scutigera coleoptrata'' – one of several species commonly known as the house centipede – is a typically yellowish-grey centipede with up to 15 pairs of legs. Originating in the Mediterranean region, the species has spread to other parts of the world, where it can live in human homes. It is an insectivore; it kills and eats other arthropods, such as insects and arachnids.
