  1. This is the stem of Euphorbia milii (Crown-of-thorns or Christ Plant), isn't it?
Deep red Christ thorn flowers in Madagascar These flowers in a botanical garden in Isola, Madagascar are so bright red that they overexposed my sensor, hence the lost detail. Euphorbia milii,Geotagged,Isola,Madagascar

    1. This could very well be, from my photos I can't tell for sure, there were so many plants in this garden. I trust you are right. Posted 12 years ago
      1. It looks like it, but I was not sure, because you mention in the description that it is a bark of tree and this plant is not a tree. Posted 12 years ago

"Euphorbia milii", the crown of thorns, Christ plant, or Christ's thorn, is a species of flowering plant in the spurge family Euphorbiaceae, native to Madagascar. The species name commemorates Baron Milius, once Governor of Réunion, who introduced the species to France in 1821.
