The overall shape resembles a lyre or harp; or teeth of a comb. The cylindrical stems are smooth and thin. When the polyps are retracted, they form small mounds on the stem.     1. Yes, they are indeed but usually it's not too dificult to spot them once you are familiar with them and the host corals. Posted 5 years ago
