Whitish with profuse small black spots covering head, body and fins, unmasked white belly; black margin on rear edge of gill cover.
This Sweetlips likes to hang out among artificial reefs and get cleaned by Cleaner Wrasse as can be seen in this picture.

''Plectorhinchus picus'', the painted sweetlips, is a species of grunt native to coral reefs of the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean at depths of 3 to 50 m. This species can reach 84 cm in TL. It is a commercially important species and can be found in the aquarium trade.
