    Okay…so, it’s technically NOT a nose, but it sure looks like one! The spotted unicornfish (Naso brevirostris) has a horn-like appendage, aka a ‘rostral protuberance’ between its eyes. This appendage can grow to 13 cm (5 in) and has no defensive function. In fact, the purpose of the rostral horn is unknown. {Spotted in Malaysia by Albert Kang} #SpottedUnicornfish #Nasobrevirostris

The short-nosed unicornfish or spotted unicornfish is a species of unicornfish in the family Acanthuridae and is widespread throughout the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Another species, "Naso maculatus", may also be called the spotted unicornfish.
