
The giraffe weevil is a weevil endemic to Madagascar. It derives its name from an extended neck much like that of the common giraffe. The giraffe weevil is sexually dimorphic, with the neck of the male typically being 2 to 3 times the length of that of the female. Great to have macro in a true expedition. It takes a lot more precious time than a 'normal' shot (in my experience:))

Furthermore, the SB700 speed light, and no tripod. Due to the heavy rain switching a lens was not easy and involved a lot of unpacking whilst trying to keep things dry. I fired many shots in about 2 minutes and then stopped due to the rain. Posted 12 years ago
