  1. Hi Ferdy, just saw this one as I uploaded some images for the 16-spot myself ... this isn't - it's a 14-spot or "chess board" ladybird beetle (Propylae quatuordecimpunctata). I'll change the ID and tags accordingly ;o) Posted 4 years ago

      1. The 14-spot is quite variable and -probably more importantly- to the eye, somehow, it makes a huge difference if the yellow patches are fused, or the black patches are fused. We get _loads_ of misidentified 14-spots on waarneming, so you're not alone ;o) Posted 4 years ago

The 14-spotted ladybird is a small lady beetle, belonging to the family Coccinellidae. It is sometimes referred to by the common name 14-spotted ladybird beetle, or simply P-14.
