Ready For Release!
This little fellow, only a centimetre long from snout to nearly gone tail, has been released back to the ditch from whence he came. Having lost its gills it is now at home breathing air out of water. Already it has all the earmarks of a Pacific Tree Frog, a dark band extending from its snout, through the eye and ending at the shoulder and distinct circular toe pads. Luckily the ditch has been refilled with rain water.

The Pacific tree frog has a range from the West Coast of the United States to British Columbia, in Canada. They live from sea level to more than 10,000 feet in many types of habitats, reproducing in aquatic settings. They occur in shades of greens or browns and can change colors over periods of hours and weeks.
