    1. Thanks! As I'm sure you've experienced as well, these small antwrens are usually pretty conspicuous in lowland forests, much less so at higher elevations. I'd been walking the trails around this lake (1500 masl) for a couple days without so much as a hint of them, though I knew from eBird they'd been reported from there. But suddenly, as I walked past an auspicious looking spot, I was inspired to play a bit of song, and nearly immedialy, a pair of these popped up to investigate, giving me this nice photo op :) Posted 5 years ago

The stripe-chested antwren is a species of bird in the family Thamnophilidae found in Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru and southwestern Colombia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, and heavily degraded former forest.
