Arched Hooktip - Drepana arcuata

Wingspan: ~ 40 mm. Rusty-edged subterminal line on hooked forewing curves toward the apex. Reniform spot has two dots.

Habitat: Attracted to a 395 nm LED light in a semi-rural area.

The Arched hooktip

The arched hooktip or masked birch caterpillar is a moth of the Drepanidae family. It is found from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island, south to at least North Carolina, South Carolina and California.
