    I did remove the ID though because we don't add it for tracks and other signs of wildlife if the organism isn't included in the photo.

    1. Hmmm, that's a bit iffy policy IMHO. I have validated observations of beetles on waarneming.nl based on images of identifiable feeding damage or a larval skin or some such, proving the presence of the species at the location ... Posted 5 years ago
      1. In the case of JungleDragon, it's not so much about evidence of the species' past presence. It's about which photos get associated with a species record, which in turn drives the species tree/browser and its cover photos. We basically do not want non-species photos to appear there.

        Doesn't mean those photos are not wanted or useful, they're very much welcome, they just are not photos of the species itself. Longer term, we require a way to associate non-species photos with species records. This could include tracks, but also diagrams and other supporting material. For now, using tags is a good work-around.
