  1. Wow...one can see why its called ashy. Promoted! Posted 12 years ago
  2. Claire, one of the best bird shots I saw of late. Beautiful crisp, magnificent bokeh background. Could you perhaps tell me more as of the latter? The Ashy is on a wooden table I guess? 7D is excellent in 1000 iso range, did not know that. I tend to shoot at 100 or 200 iso, but that really limits the shots one makes. I'm going to reconsider (60D myself). Posted 12 years ago
  3. Wow, thank you!
I have not had the 7D long, just stepped up from an old 400D so still on a learning curve. I read that the lens I am using (100-400L USM) gives great bokeh and its certainly delivering.
A lot of the photos I take are in terrible conditions, dark forests with shards of bright light and subjects that just won't sit still, so I tend to use a high ISO to give me the shutter speed I need. I have had a lot of ghastly mistakes with backgrounds badly flared but I think I am getting there!
I just love the 7D, its giving some awesome results and the lens is just amazing. Even though it is heavy, the image stabiliser works a treat handheld which is a bonus as I find a tripod too restricting. The Ashy is sat on a pole around a balcony type thing so very pleased the way the background has blurred making it look a bit more natural.
