Inflorescences - Alocasia scabriuscula - Elephant's Ear
Little by little I am finding new species names for my sightings in North East Borneo in 2015. This plant was found in Tabin. Next picture shows the entire plant.
To be honest my ID is still speculative, based on the inflorescences. The leaves in the next picture make me doubt...the only thing I am sure of is that it is an Alocasia :-)

Robust plants to over 1 meter tall. Broad, thick-textured leaves in shades of grey and green an carried on green and red rough-textured leaf stalks. Clusters of white spathe with the lower part spattered blood-red.
