Thought this was a Whitethroat but thanks to Thibaud, I know this is not the case. I now believe it to be a Chiffchaff

  1. Hi NattyOne, your bird isn't a white throat. Note the greyish, greenish tones, pale eyebrow and very small bill. It's a Phylloscopus warbler, most likely a chiffchaff.
    (Check out Philip's photo for comparison: much more reddish and no eyebrow

The common chiffchaff, or simply the chiffchaff, is a common and widespread leaf warbler which breeds in open woodlands throughout northern and temperate Europe and the Palearctic.
