Browallia speciosa, Solanaceae
Growing in shady wet rain forest, Tatamá National Park along the road from Montezuma Rainforest Lodge leading up to the top of Cerro Montezuma. This habitat is often covered in cloud and mist at various times during the day, often with regular showers of rain.
''Browallia speciosa'' is a blue-violet tender perennial usually grown as an annual flowering plant also called the Amethyst Flower or Bush Violet. It is much used as a garden ornamental.
